I often wonder if I would have become a Godzilla fan if I'd watched these when I was a kid. I wasn't allowed to watch much of anything in the way of fantasy, though, and never even heard of Godzilla until I was in my late teens. I never tried to watch any of the movies until I was probably in my mid to late 20s and I just didn't like them. I bet it would have been different if I'd seen them at age 7 like you.
